The Problem
If you live in a hard water area then you will have calcium, magnesium and sometimes iron in your water. Left untreated, scale will build up on the pool walls and tiles leaving your pump, filter, and chlorinator susceptible to hard water scaling problems that will cost you money. An even worse scenario is when your pool pump fails prematurely as scale builds up in the pipes and filter housing. Even more costly is when your salt water chlorinator cell builds up with scale reducing the efficiency of the chlorine generation, leading to problems of algae and black spot growing in the pool.
The old solution to solving these problems was to get an assortment of chemicals to dose up the pool water. This requires a lot of money and time, and creates a swimming environment that is not safe or enjoyable for you, your family, or the environment.
The Solution
So what to do? The solution is actually quite simple. However, it will not be found at your local pool shop as you will not be needing costly chemicals. The solution is installing a catalytic Softerwater Pool Conditioner in the recirculating system, generally after the pump or filter. This ensures that each time the water is recirculated it gets conditioned time and time again. The quality and clarity of the water improves the more often the water is recirculated. By using Softerwater, you use far fewer chemicals and you get to swim and enjoy your pool knowing that the pool, pump, filter, chlorinator, and pipes are protected from hard water problems. It’s a win-win!

Installation
If you’re a handy person you can do the installation yourself. if not, get your local pool guy to do the installation for you.
- The best location for the pool conditioner is after the pump and either before the filter, or if you have a salt water chlorinator, after the filter and before the chlorinator.
- The Pool conditioner will need to be glued in place so allow a couple of hours after the installation before turning the pool pump on again.
Installing the conditioner in the recirculating system means that each time the water is recirculated it gets conditioned time and time again.
